"We are not storm chasers... We live here!"

Making the wind and hail storm insurance claims process easier for property owners!

1) Call M & R Roofing:
If your property sustained hail or wind damage from a storm, it may be difficult to assess how bad the damage is when you look at it from the ground. M & R Roofing, Inc. has the expertise to determine whether the storm has damaged your shingles or other roofing materials, gutters, siding or windows through a close physical inspection by a
professional who is comprehensively trained in wind and hail damage. Call M & R Roofing, Inc. today for your free initial roof consultation at 303-795-1400.

2) Be sure to request temporary emergency repairs for any known leaks:
Hail and high winds can cause divots, small cracks or delamination in composition shingles or broken seams on commercial or metal roofing systems. Colorado’s sporadic wet and dry weather cycles can cause leaks to appear suddenly or gradually, over time.  Insurance policies typically require the property owner to mitigate the damage. While some contractors only do roof replacement, M&R roofing has its own fleet of trucks with fully trained employees who can handle those repairs.

3) Call your insurance company’s 24 hour claims center.
Have your policy information readily available, plus information about when you suspect the storm damage occurred. A list of insurance company claim centers contact info is attached.

4) Review the insurance summary report with your M & R roofing, Inc. Project Manager:
The insurance company’s adjuster will prepare a report and submit it to initiate your claim. That report then gets used to create a “summary report.”  Claimants typically do not see the adjuster’s report, so you need to know that sometimes, items that were on the adjuster’s report fail to appear on the summary report. The insurance company will mail a copy of the summary report directly to the property owner, so review it carefully to make sure that nothing was missed.  The insurance company could also miss local construction code requirements.  Counties and municipalities within the Denver metro area have varying requirements for underlayment, reading, ice and water, wind resistance rating and many other construction codes.  Considerable differences in code requirements exist between the city of Denver and Aurora, Inglewood, Littleton, Centennial, Parker, Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree, and between the counties of Jefferson, Douglas and Arapahoe.  You can access those codes easily with a simple online search – or contact us for help.

5) Get creative and fun
Yes, fun.  Now, you get to choose from the wide variety of available construction materials, manufacturers, design features and color choices for roofing, gutters, siding or window replacement. Plus, our preferred contractor status with almost every major material manufacturer gives us the ability extend manufacturers’ standard warranties. M&R roofing can even offer choices that may save you money on your insurance premiums. For instance, check out the insurance discount you may receive when upgrading to a UL 2218 class 4 hail resistant shingle. If you belong to a Property Owners Association in Roxborough, Littleton, Denver, Centennial, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch or Parker, we’ll keep you compliant with their rules about using fire resistant materials when you renovate.
